The LGPS Local Pension Board members and officers events are run by Barnett Waddingham and CIPFA. These continue our successful series of events delivered over the previous four years providing updates, training and networking opportunities at an affordable cost. Dates, times, locations and booking details for the 2020/2021 programmes are provided below as well as further information about what to expect. Should circumstances require it, the autumn and spring seminars will be delivered by live webinar.

About this event
Who should attend?
Our Local Pension Board seminars are exclusively for Board members and provide the latest LGPS and governance information updates, training on specific topics and opportunities for discussion and networking with members of other Funds’ Boards.
How will I benefit from attending?
Our seminars are designed as an opportunity for members of Local Boards to share experiences, to receive updates, to enhance their knowledge, and to discuss the key issues facing them and the LGPS in a professional but informal environment. As well as presentations, there are interactive sessions to facilitate discussion and networking as well as plenty of networking time during the breaks.

Speaker - Richard Lloyd-Bithell, Senior Technical Manager, CIPFA
Richard is senior technical manager within CIPFA’s Public Financial Management directorate, leading on public sector policy, standards and guidance, both in the UK and internationally. Richard has over nine years of public and private sector experience and formerly worked as a lead advisor on treasury management and pensions for CIPFA. He also worked in local government as a principal accountant, managing a treasury and technical accounting team, before joining CIPFA in 2019.
